MITCHAM CARNIVAL

On Saturday 16th June The Stripes joined Tooting and Mitcham United first team on the float for Mitcham Carnival which was to celebrate TMUFC’S 75th Anniversary. We all met up at The Hub
at 11am where the boys boarded the open top bus and we made our way to Figges marsh, where we joined the rest of the floats for the carnival procession The bus took its place and we slowly made our way through Mitcham town centre. The boys mingled with the first team players and waved to the many people that lined the streets. The Stripes chanted “Tooting” to the sound of fog horns that the first team were blaring out. The procession ended at The Three Kings ponds the mayor announced the winning float. They had a fantastic time and were on their best behaviour. It was a proud moment for them as they felt like true stars which they are.

PRESENTATION EVENING 2007

I would like to say a big Thank you to everyone that attended the presentation evening.

We had a successful evening and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. (Yes including me doing my awful dancing, but hey I enjoyed it)

We started our presentation at 7.45pm with the U 7's up first. Patrick presented the medals and had his debut public speech and was brilliant, so well done Patrick.

Trophy winners for the U7's were Peppe and Luke

Next up we had the U8's with Loris presenting the medals and of course embarrassing his partner in crime, Andy.

Trophy winners for the U8's were Bradley and Noah

To follow we had Mike presenting the U9's Colts with their medals and very cool he was too.

Trophy winners for the U9's Colts were Scott and Luke

And finally the U9's Stripes, Tony presented their medals and was another one I believe that had his debut public speech. So well done to you too.

Trophy winners for U9's Stripes were Reece and James F

We had Nigel Wood (First team photographer) taking pictures which will be on the website in due course. After the presentations the party started, Lionel had arranged for a DJ who did a great job and very soon people were up dancing the night away.

The evening was a success and I would like to thank everyone involved in making it a success from parents and players, coaches and managers to members of the committee at The Hub (Les and Nigel).

Well done to our raffle winners, all those that bought tickets helped raise £75 towards the club

We partied until 11pm and went home happy that the night went so well. I would also like to thank the coaches for the lovely chocolates (chosen by Andy's daughter Abby well done girl)
