U10 Colts
v
Walcountians League 5-0
(won) September 30 2007
|
|
Played three, won
three. No wonder
there were plenty of
happy faces after
the Colts kept up
their unbeaten
league run on
Sunday. The 5-0
victory was
well-deserved with
the Stripes taking
their chances after
some excellent work
going forward.
Bouchez got the home
side off to a flying
start. Kearley
worked himself some
space in the box and
after his drive was
blocked, the left
midfielder followed
up to scramble the
rebound home.
Churchman and
Kearley soon began
to dominate the
central midfield
area, spreading the
ball well to the
flanks to allow
Bouchez and Creegan
to make some strong
runs and put in some
testing crosses.
When Walcountians
did get forward,
they found defenders
Power and Abbasi in
excellent form, both
putting in some
well-timed tackles
and covering each
other well. On the
few occasions that
the visitors managed
to threaten,
Thornton, replacing
the absent Hogan in
goal, was alert to
the danger and his
long kicks set up a
number of chances
for the Colts.
Churchman made it
2-0 just before
half-time, hitting a
swerving shot with
the outside of his
right foot into the
corner of the net.
Rondeau came on at
the interval and the
substitute quickly
claimed his first
goal for the club –
his cross took a
deflection and the
spinning ball
slipped through the
keeper’s fingers
into the net.
Kearley almost made
it four when his
drive thumped the
post but he got on
the score sheet a
few minutes later
when the Colts were
awarded a penalty
for handball.
Although Kearley’s
spot-kick hit the
post, he fired in
the rebound. Rondeau
got his second of
the match in the
closing stages,
sweeping home
Bouchez’s cross at
the far post to cap
another great
performance from the
Colts.

U7 Colts v Epsom
Eagles 1 – 4 L
30/9/07 |
|
This was a close
encounter and the
score does not truly
reflect the balance
of play. The Colts
started the sharper
and could have
easily been two
goals up within the
first few minutes
but the chances were
missed without
troubling the
Eagles’ keeper. It
was after one such
opportunity that the
Eagles broke quickly
and scored at the
opposite end. With
the Colts always
willing to attack,
an equalizer looked
likely but a well
taken goal by the
Eagles’ striker left
the Colts 2-0 down
at half time. With a
tactical reshuffle
and substitutions of
which Mourinho would
have been proud the
Colts looked eager
after the break and
were rewarded with a
composed finish by
Russell after a neat
interplay. The Colts
pressed hard for an
equaliser but were
caught out by
another quick Eagles
break-out into
attack and unjustly
found themselves
3-1down. Despite
some heroic
goalkeeping by
George, including a
penalty save, the
Colts fell further
behind as the Colts
pushed up in search
of goals. By the end
the Colts were
disappointed at
having lost their
100% record but they
were not dejected,
and nor should they
be – it was a
thrilling end to end
match with much to
build on for the
remainder of the
season. Well done! .

v Esher
Athletic Wizards (premier
elite north) 1-1
30/9/07 |
|
After a 10-0 victory
last week in the
cup, we went into
the game on a high
but this time
against much tougher
opposition. Esher
started the better,
giving our boys a
real test, but we
battled well and
Bryan outstanding in
goal and Harry and
Michael in defence
kept us in the game
With no real clear
chances at either
end half time was
upon us 0-0. Second
half Early in the
second half Esher
got a corner; a well
placed corner we did
not deal with, was
knocked in from
close range 0-1. But
we did not drop our
heads and kept
battling. The longer
the game went on we
started getting into
the game more.
Creating chances,
looking the better
side we got a throw
in which Casey took
,along one into the
box which got
knocked on to JJ who
hit a low shot into
the corner of the
net 1-1. Back in the
game and looking the
better side we had
chances to win, but
with time running
out the game
finished a fair
result 1-1. A good
point earned against
a good side, keep up
the hard work well
done.

U9 Colts
v Epsom
Eagles Juniors- home- 2-2
draw- 30/9/07 |
|
Looking at the score
above and taking
into account the
fact we let a 2-0
lead slip you would
think I would be
disappointed, not a
bit of it, I am so
proud of the boys I
hope the following
report can do
justice to it. We
scored two wonderful
goals made by great
pass and move
football, the opener
by Tommy (his first
of the season) in
the first half, the
second by Luke not
long after the
break. We were then
pegged back from a
header off a corner
and following that
we then failed to
deal with loose ball
in the box. Those
two sentences fail
to cover the end to
end, cut and thrust
of this encounter
with a very
accomplished Epsom
team. I decided to
change the shape of
the side today and
asked the boys prior
to kick off to try
and keep their shape
and try to be as
disciplined in their
play as possible and
try and use the ball
as positively as
they could and they
surpassed my
expectations. From
back to front we
were outstanding
with Alfie in goal
pulling of heroic
saves time and time
again with his sharp
reflexes and great
positioning all
complimented by his
excellent use of the
ball, his skipper
Chin in front was
immense mopping up
when necessary
crunching into
tackles when need be
and remaining cool
under fire giving an
example to his
team-mates. I
decided to play Ben
along side him at
the back and he
never let me down
with an as
accomplished a
performance you
would wish to see
from a player at
this age group
dealing with
everything with calm
assurance and
determination. I
moved Charlie into
the “Maka” role and
he was outstanding
breaking up threats
and spring boarding
us on the counter
attack with his
driving runs or
quick use of the
ball, I rotated my
wingers constantly
during the game as
they had to cover
the most ground but
Luke, Tommy and Owen
did us proud with
their thrusting runs
and intelligent use
of the ball, up
front playing the
target man role with
aplomb was Daniel
returning after
injury, his hold up
play was
magnificent, his
skill level was of
the highest order
and when his
sharpness returns he
will cause lots of
teams trouble in
this division. Our
unused sub was Luke
D whose constant
support for his team
mates does him
proud, unfortunately
it was to tight a
game to get him
involved but his
chance will come-
hang in there Luke.
All of these boys
deserve a big pat on
the back, to produce
such a performance,
with so little
experience behind
them is great credit
to them and as they
play more they’ll
learn more. Add in
the hard work in
practice sessions
and they’ll be a
very good team
indeed. Well done
boys I’m very proud
of you all.

Firstly welcome back
to Ryan Lee and well
done to the Terror’s
for their first win
of the season. The
boys had to deal
with lots of
pressure in the
first half, but with
stout defending from
the twins Mark And
Jamie with George,
Rivaldo, Kieran,
Ryan, Tyriee, Pryass
all throwing
themselves into
tackles and fighting
for the cause, add
in exceptional
goalkeeping by Adam
we managed to get to
half time 0-0. It
wasn’t long into the
second half the boys
hard work started to
pay dividends, we
started to push
Esher on to the back
foot and were soon
rewarded with a goal
from Adam shortly
followed by an own
goal with a third
added before the
final whistle. This
first victory was a
team effort and
thoroughly deserved.
Keep it up boys Sham

U7 Colts
v AFC
Walcountians (Home) – 13-0
win 23/0/07 |
|
The Colts continued
their unbeaten start
to the season with a
comprehensive
victory over AFC
Walcountians. A
superb performance
by all the team with
practically every
player getting on
the score sheet. In
attack we created
numerous chances
with the ball being
played out wide with
crosses coming in
from Adam and the
new boy on his
debut, Sacha. Sacha
on his debut scored
a hat trick with one
memorable goal being
a dazzling run from
the halfway line.
George also scored a
hat trick with his
left foot. The Coach
would like to see
him score one with
his right in the
future. Adam and Ben
both scored two
goals and Russell,
Kieran and Alfie all
scoring one.
Kieran’s goal being
the best of the
match after a
fantastic team move
resulting in Alfie
getting on a cross
from the right from
Adam.
Special mention must
also be made of
Reuben who returned
in defence and was
as solid as normal
but was masterly in
his distribution,
creating attacking
moves with defence
splitting passes
from the back. He
even nearly scored
after running the
length of the field
with the ball. All
in all a very good
performance albeit
against a very weak
team and with Alex
coming back next
week after a weeks
rest we will I am
sure put up a very
stern test against
the Epsom Eagles.

U10 Colts
v Esher
Athletic Wizards away League
7-2 win 23/0/07 |
|
The Colts produced
their own magic
against the Wizards,
storming to the top
of the table with a
spellbinding 7-2
victory on Sunday.
The Stripes made it
two league wins out
of two with an
outstanding team
effort, full of
excellent passing,
movement, support
play and finishing -
all the things they
have been working on
in training. The
scoreline was no
more than the boys
deserved – in fact
only a string of
excellent saves by
the home keeper kept
the goal tally in
single figures. The
Colts got off to a
dream start when
Bouchez claimed his
third goal of the
season with a smart
finish from
Kearley’s corner.
And they almost
doubled their lead a
minute later when
some superb passing
between Bouchez,
Power and Kearley
put Churchman in on
goal but his effort
came back off the
post. Hogan produced
his first save of
the match after 10
minutes but had to
leave the field
shortly afterwards
because of illness.
Thornton took over.
Substitute Williams
immediately got on
the score-sheet.
Kearley made an
excellent break down
the right and after
the keeper could
only parry his
powerful shot,
Williams tapped home
the rebound. Now the
Colts looked in
control but the
Wizards reduced the
deficit just before
half-time. Thornton
produced a fine save
to keep out the
first shot but could
do nothing to
prevent the rebound
going in. The goal
could have knocked
the boys’ confidence
but they continued
to play some joyful
football. Abbasi put
them 3-1 up,
slotting home after
a brilliant mazy run
from defence, and
then the Stripes
really turned on the
style. Kearley
grabbed two goals in
a minute. First he
linked well with
substitute Rondeau
down the left and
smashed the ball
home from inside the
box and his second
was an excellent
individual effort.
Rondeau, Williams
and Creegan all had
good chances but
were denied by the
home keeper before
Churchman capped an
impressive
performance by
unleashing a 20-yard
effort high into the
net. The Wizards
managed to pull one
back just before the
end but the Colts
were still not
finished – Abbasi
scoring from
Rondeau’s cross.
Squad: Hogan,
Thornton, Abbasi

Well another great
weekend for the
Terrors, 38 Goals in
three games. We got
off to a slow start
and found it hard
going at first. We
had plenty of the
ball with lots of
shots at goal, but
we could not get up
and running. Then
came some great
passing and ANDREW
scored a cracking
goal and EMILE soon
followed. Two goals
up at half time not
looking too good, if
you could see the
amount of possession
we had!!!!!!! Second
half came and a few
stubs were made, and
we soon got back in
the game. Three more
goals for ANDREW,
Three goals for
HARRY, Two goals for
PEPPE, One more goal
for EMILE, And the
very first goal for
FELIX. Overall a
great game, with
some good passing
all over the pitch.
I would just like to
say I think they
only scored one goal
not because they did
not do well up front
but ZAK our goal
keeper was
OUTSTANDING, he
didn’t have a lot to
do but what he done,
he done very well.

With a good victory
last week in the
interleague cup the
boys started where
they left off ,from
the first whistle
the terrors passed
and moved the ball
brilliantly, At
times the football
for nine year olds
was amazing; Casey
and Cameron in
midfield where
winning everything,
JJ & James pulling
all the strings up
front while Michael,
Harry and Brian Kept
it tight at the back
,every time we
attacked we could
have scored and it
was not long before
we did, some lovely
quick passing and JJ
was in to score the
first ,our second
came through James.
again some lovely
passing from The
back to midfield to
the strikers who set
up Casey for a shot
at goal, which took
a deflection of a
defender into the
corner of the net
3-0,our(FORTH,
James)(FIFTH,JJ)(SIXTH
Cameron)(SEVENTH
James)all came
through lovely
passing and moving
and cool finishing.
Half time.
Substitutes jack,
Reece Thomas. The
second half started
a bit flat, but soon
picked up with some
more good moves, and
Harry finishing with
a well struck shot
from outside the
area 8-0. Reece and
jack now the only
two at the back were
left to defend while
the others went in
search of a goal
Brian now on the
pitch came close ,so
did Thomas, A good
run from the back by
Reece and he nearly
scored, but two more
poachers goals for
James who finished
on five,10-0 . Very
good performances by

U9 Terrors

Juniors under 9 – Home-
league game- 5-2 win
23/9/2007 |
|
The third game of
the season and the
terrors were looking
to continue their
unbeaten run. With a
strong team and an
early start the boys
started well with
excellent work on
the flanks from
Danny S and Danny W
and with goal
machines Sammy and
David on form the
boys went in 2-0 up
at half time.
Shortly after the
break the terrors
went 3-0 up but with
Wandgas showing real
spirit they fought
back to 3-2. Using
Bradley’s energy on
the wing and Harry’s
strength in defence
the Terrors
increased the score
to 4-2 and relieved
the tension
slightly. Felix made
a couple of first
class saves to keep
us ahead, and with
another strong
performance from the
midfield maestro
Josh and man of the
match Lewis’s tough
tackling, we made
sure we kept Wandgas
to only two goals.
The boys scored a
5th just before the
final whistle.
Another great team

U9 Colts
v Bedfont
Green Colts – home – league
– 1-0 win - 23/9/07 |
|
This was the second
win in three games
for this new team
and was a big
improvement on last
weeks 1st half
performance, for the
first time I felt
confident in playing
all the team from
set positions, they
rose to the
challenge
magnificently. Our
only goal came from
a corner with
Charlie getting the
last touch as the
ball went in via a
deflection, but I’ll
give it to him as
it’s no more than
his industry
deserved. We created
numerous other
chances where we
were either denied
by some great
goalkeeping or poor
finishing on our
part. Alfie was back
to his assured best
making brave saves
when need be and
bossing his box like
all good keepers
should, with his
skipper Chin looking
back to his
accomplished self,
dealing with
anything that got
past the
irrepressible
Charlie we certainly
looked more solid.
Our midfield three
was Tommy on the
left Luke on the
right and Owen in
the middle. Both
wingers created
mayhem down the
flanks and produced
disciplined
performances with
their defensive work
as well, both the
boys can be proud of
their efforts. With
Owen in the middle
starting to add
thought to that
natural talent we
are starting to look
like team with
balance, add Ben
into the mix up
front and we had
virtual control of
the game. With
Jermarl coming on at
the back in the
first half and
creating a chance
for himself in the
second as a striker
his promise and hard
work in training are
starting to pay
dividend. Reshaun
came on for the
latter stages of the
first half and
performed with his
normal gusto with
Luke D giving his
now customary cameo
role. Our control of
the game was such,
that I felt
confident enough in
the boys too start
switching positions
to see how they
coped with the
different
disciplines required
in other areas of
the pitch and I’m
pleased to say they
all rose to the
challenge
magnificently,
comfortably slotting
in to do what was
asked of them, which
all goes well for
the future as this
undoubted talented
group of young
footballers develop
over the season. As
stated previously
1-0 doesn’t do
justice to the
performance but
they’ll play worse
and win by more,
well done boys a
great improvement.

This was the second

and was a vast
improvement on their

tight end to end
game with Mark and
Jamie going close
and Adam pulling off
one superb save. The
first half ended 0-0
thanks to the
tireless work rate

Kieran and

the wonderful skill
composure of George
we always looked in

goalkeepers in the
second half giving
the responsibility

well but an own goal

The boys were up
against a strong
team, this didn't
affect the boys at
all as they were in
such high spirits
from the last game
that they just
wanted to carry on
where they left off
the previous Sunday.
The teamwork and
passing was
outstanding, Alex
was being constantly
pressured by the
Rocks lane players
but used his great
repertoire of skills
and dummies to evade
their attention and
set up Alfie and Ben
with some great
passes and crosses.
With the tireless
running of Adam,
Russell and Kieran
we were always in
control, but if at
any moment our
concentration did
slip there was
always George in
goal to save the
day. We were 2-0 up
at half time thanks
to Alex adding to an
own goal from Rocks

Not the greatest of
starts for the Colts
on a cold damp day.
A poor display on
both teams' behalf's
in a game that never
really got going a
typical game where
neither set of boys
looked interested!
But there were
positives to be
taken out of the
game, with the boys
only playing their
2nd game together in
competitive
football, the passes
seemed to be getting
better, and the boys
are just getting
there postion-wise..
But there are still
cracks in the

Whitton Wanderers Interleague Cup (away)
win 5–2 - 16th Sept 2007 |
|
After a poor display
last Sunday a much
improved performance
saw Tooting run out
easy winners this
week, with early
pressure the terrors
were 1-0 up within
five minutes Some
good passing in
midfield, JJ played
Casey in nicely for
a cool finish round
the goalkeeper, with
constant pressure
for the whole of the
first half tooting
should have been
easily 4 to 5 goals
up but some how we
went in only 1-0 up.
The second half we
started very fast
and within a few
minutes a cross into
the box resulted in
a own goal by
Whitton 2-0, some
good football from
the terrors and we
went 3-0 up through
JJ With the constant
running and tackling
of Casey and James t
,and with our
defenders Harry and
Michael and
goalkeeper Bryan
looking good Whitton
could not get into
the game , with
another attack we
got a corner which
Harry scored
directly from 4-0.
With all our players
now trying to score
a goal we forgot
about defending and
a low shot beat the
keeper 4-1. But
almost immediately
we scored again
through JJ some good
passing from Harry
and Michael out of
defence to Thomas to
James to Casey who
shot but the keeper
could not hold on
and JJ scored his
second. With Tooting
all still trying to
score Whitton broke
and a good shot
saved by jack in
goal could only be
pushed out to a
Whitton player who
shot ,but Casey
flying in looked as
he cleared well of
the line But the ref
gave it as a goal
5-2. We controlled
the game from start
to finish and should
have scored a lot
more but on the
whole a good day.

stirring second half
comeback against
Sheen Lions but were
edged out in a
five-goal thriller.
Superb strikes by
Bouchez and
Churchman brought
the Colts right back
into the Interleague
Cup tie but their
experienced
opponents just
managed to hold on
for victory. The
team went into the
match with plenty of
confidence after
starting their
league campaign the
previous week with
an impressive 3-0
win. And the opening
period of the first
half looked to be
evenly matched, with
Hogan alert in goal,
Thornton and Abbasi
outstanding in
defence, while
Kearley, Bouchez,
Rondeau and Williams
all looked
threatening on the
counter-attack. But
the boys fell behind
to two scrappy
goals. First a
left-foot shot from
the edge of the box
somehow went through
a sea of legs and
nestled in the
corner, and then the
Stripes failed to
deal with a
left-wing cross
which was nodded in
at the far post. To
make matters worse
Hogan was injured in
the incident -
Thornton took over
the No 1 shirt and
Churchman came on in
defence. The Colts
started the second
half in determined
mood and were
rewarded for their
efforts when
Bouchez’s powerful
shot was deflected
and looped over the
home side’s keeper.
The goal gave the
Colts a lift and
some of their
passing and movement
was a joy to watch.
Power, on as a
second half
substitute, looked
assured and
Kearley’s strong
running meant he was
a constant threat to
the home defence.
Against the run of
play Sheen restored
their two-goal lead
midway through the
second half but the
Colts again hit
back. Thornton’s
long goal kick put
Kearley through and
although the
striker’s effort was
blocked, the rebound
came to Churchman,
who kept his
composure and rifled
his effort into the
top corner. The
Colts threw
everything forward
as they searched for
an equaliser in the
final minutes.
Kearley twice went
close but Sheen held
on to book their
place in the next
round.
Squad: Hogan,
Thornton, Abbasi,
Bouchez, Power,
Kearley, Churchman,
Creegan, Rondeau,

U9 Terrors
v Molesey
Juniors Colts (away) 4–5 win -
16th Sept 2007 |
|
The second game of
the season was an 11
o’clock kick off
against Molesey
Juniors Colts.
Bradley deputised in
goal and continued
to show the form
that helped the team
last season. The
game started well
with an early goal
from David after
some good work on
the left wing from
Danny Scants.
Molesey then
equalised but with
some excellent inter
play including some
close ‘one twos’
with midfielder
Danny Walker super
sub Sam scored two
goals and we
finished the first
half 3-1 up. The
second half started
lively with a free
kick and after a
deflection Molesey
got back to 2-3.
Once again Sam came
up with the goods
the finish his ‘hat
trick’. When Josh
scored with an
excellent shot form
outside the box the
boys went 5-2 up. As
the game went on and
with all their hard
work the boys
started to look
tired, a little of
the teams shape was
lost but the boys
continued to work
really hard. Molesey
scored a 3rd but
with some resolute
defending by Harry
and Lewis the boys
won 4-5. Another
good performance by
the boys, well done.

U9 Colts
v Cheam
Sports (home) lost 0-3 -
16th Sept 2007 |
|
This game was a
tough lesson for the
Colts given out by a
strong Cheam side,
especially in the
first half where we
were given a
football lesson. The
boys seemed
lethargic, hesitant
and maybe a little
bit scared of their
opponents who
hustled and bustled
us in the opening
minutes never
allowing us to
settle. They
dominated
territorially and
moved the ball well
taking advantage of
our slack marking to
cruise into a
comfortable 3-0 lead
by half time. At
half time we made
some small
positional changes
and I gave the boys
a there first
telling off not for
there mistakes but
for the lack of
effort and
concentration, all
of which seemed to
have the desired
effect as there
second half
performance improved
considerably, we
started to play as a
team and were
probably the better
side in the half,
creating the better
chances and
certainly more of
the territorial
advantage. The Colts
deserve a pat on the
back for there
second half comeback
but will now
hopefully realise
that you can’t play
football properly if
you don’t
concentrate and put
in the necessary
effort.

U10 Colts
v Kew Park
Rangers 3–0 (away)
League 9th Sept 2007 |
|
The 1st day of the
new season came
around very quickly
after the short
summer break. With
little time to work
with the players and
only one pre-season
friendly under their
belts, the boys put
in a performance
they should be proud
of. The opening
minutes were a bit
scrappy with both
sides vying for
control of the
match. However, it
wasn't long before
the Colts began to
take control as the
passing began to
take shape, enabling
the attacking
midfield duo of
Kearley & Churchman
to get forward.
Whilst the
wing-backs, Power &
Bouchez were a good
outlet for the
defenders Thornton &
Abbasi to get passes
to them. As the game
reached halfway
through the 1st
half, the hard
working and powerful
Kearley, burst
through to fire home
the 1st goal (much
deserved too!). The
goal put the boys in
a very confident
mood and the 2nd
goal followed
shortly, after
Bouchez swiftly
scored from a
similar position as
the previous goal.
As the 1st half drew
to a close things
had to be changed
due to Abbasi taking
a "knock", Churchman
slotted in at the
back alongside
Thornton and
Williams came on to
go into midfield
alongside Kearley.
The 2nd half saw the
introduction of
Rondeau replacing
Bouchez on the
left-side and he got
into the game
straight away with
some very hard work
and strong running
down the left flank.
After more attacking
from the Colts
another corner was
won and, as worked
on at training,
Thornton came up
from defence into
the box to head home
a perfectly timed
header. As it was a
hot morning with
players feeling the
heat, another change
was made and Creegan
replaced Power on
the right-hand side.
The boys saw the
game out with ease
and when called upon
Hogan in goal kept
his concentration
well by handling
effortlessly any
shots that came his
way. Many thanks to
the boys for a
fantastic team
effort and well
done!

Terrors
v Cannons
7-2L (away) League
9th Sept 2007 |
|
Not a good start to
the season like we
hoped it would be,
game started pretty
even, cannons being
very strong and
aggressive Just like
there parents and
managers, we battled
well but never got
any passing going
and went a goal down
just before the
break Some bad
defensive errors
cost us an easy
goal. Half time and
a right good talking
to we started
passing and some
good passing lead to
jj getting our
equaliser, But
within a few minutes
we were back making
silly mistakes at
the back at let in
another soft goal. A
few minutes later we
got awarded A free
kick 15 yards out
which Cameron
stepped up and
smashed into the top
corner 2-2 for a few
minutes will looked
the better side
Looking like we may
take the lead, but
our hopes were short
lived with mix ups
at the back again we
conceded a poor
goal. With 10
minutes or so left
our boys gave up the
fight with more
defensive mistakes
cannons started
queuing up to score.
A bad start to the
season we must
improve.

U9
Colt’s
2v1 AFC
Wallington (away) 9th
Sept 2007 |
|
This was the first
competitive game for
the large majority
of the Colt’s but
you would have been
hard to tell that.
An away game in your
opening fixture is
always a tricky
affair and a much
improved AFC
Wallington certainly
made it hard for us
especially early on
when they had the
majority of the
territorial
advantage, but new
Colts keeper Alfie
was more than a
match for anything
that was thrown at
him. With skipper
Chin sweeping up in
front of him we
always looked
assured. Then a goal
each from debutants
Luke and Ben put the
seal on a controlled
first half
performance where we
were creating more
and more chances as
the half went on,
with Louis, Daniel,
and Owen all going
close to extending
our lead before the
break. The Colt’s
became more and more
dominant in the
second half with
Luke hitting the bar
with a header from
one of the numerous
corners the boy’s
were creating.
Thanks to the
tireless running of
Charlie and Tommy
who were always
breaking up threats
and launching the
Colt’s on the
counter attacks with
clever use of the
ball the boys always
posed a threat. Then
with the game
looking comfortably
won, Wallington got
a freak goal from a
rebounded clearance
with 3 minutes
remaining. Then in
the dying seconds
Alfie produced an
outstanding save one
on one to make sure
the Colt’s
deservedly took all
the points. A
special mention to
should go to Luke D
who was an unused
sub but as always
kept supporting the
boys despite not
getting on.

U9
Terrors 4v2 Esher
Athletic Wizards (home) 9th Sept 2007 |
|
The season started
with a home match
against Esher
Athletic Wizards.
The starting team
included three new
faces Goalkeeper
Felix and Midfielder
Josh both of who had
a good game with
Joshes tough talking
in midfield and
Felix making some
really brave saves
from Esher, who had
a forward line that
was really strong.
We took the lead
early on with some
really strong
running and silky
skills on the right
from Danny Scants
feeding David in to
score his 1st of his
hat trick. With
Danny Walker working
exceptionally hard
on the left the boys
really ran their
socks off in the
heat and when Harry
scored with a great
shot from outside
the box the terrors
went in 3-0 up at
halftime and this
also included
hitting the post.
With Bradley
alternating between
striker and midfield
and with the pace of
Sam we kept the
Wizards on their
toes. Esher piled on
the pressure in the
second half but with
the third new boy
Lewis’s sturdy
challenges, even
after getting
elbowed in the face,
we continued to use
the ball well and
with some slick
passing moves we
finished strongly
and won 4-2. Well
done all round boys.
Great Start to the
season.

Under 7's
What an excellent
day for under 7
Tooting and Mitcham
Stripes Team. The
boys first
experience of
playing a match.
The team were
against a some
strong opponents,
the first match was
against Stoneleigh
Athletic, where we
won 2-1, the second
match was against
Spelthorne Sports
once again we won by
6-0, the last match
was against Feltham
we lost 3-1. All the
boys did so well,
they all worked
excellently as a
team, using all the
skills and tricks
they’ve picked up in
there short time
with us. The
defending was good,
with some excellent
tackle’s and when
needed some great
goalkeeping. Defeat
in the last game was
down to bad luck,
tiredness and strong
opposition. The
festival will give
the boys insight of
what Sunday matches
are about, they all
did very well, and
to say the least, I
am very proud of the
boys. Also not
forgetting the
parents support,
many thanks to them
for their support of
the boys. Keep it up
